Fishing and Hunting

For the avid fisherman, Norfork Lake and it’s sister lake, Bull Shoals, are musts on your list of lakes to fish!  Lake Norfork is well known for it’s plentiful supply of large hybrid and striper bass.  Outdoorsmen also come to fish for large and small mouth bass, walleye, white bass, monster crappie, catfish, and bluegill.  Don’t forget to bring your string and net and you can clean your catch on site!  And if you enjoy a different approach to fishing, the water is so clean and clear that spearfishing is also an option.   Fishing licenses may be obtained online at Arkansas Game and Fish Commission or just 1 mile up the road from the resort at 101 Grocery and Bait.  Our guests are welcome to walk or drive to our brand new private fishing and swimming dock, located in a small cove around Bidwell Point.

Lake Norfork is home to several annual fishing tournaments, including the 2017 Children’s Homes Bass Classic, 2017 Lake Norfork Fireworks Bass Fishing Tournament, 2017 Cystic Fibrosis Buddy Bass Tournament and the 2017 Norfork Lake Spear Fishing Tournament.  Our resort is conveniently located just a few miles from popular launching points and marinas, including Panther Bay Marina Lake Norfork Marina, and the 101 Boat Dock.

The Ozark Mountain forest offers over 20,000 acres of public land surrounding Lake Norfork which is accessible during open hunting season.  During this time, outdoorsmen often hunt whitetail deer, wild turkeys, duck, goose, squirrel, rabbit, fox, bear, opossum, racoon, dove, and quail.  Imagine waking up in your spacious, clean, heated cabin and walking just feet to your hunting location!  For more information on licenses and regulations, please visit Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
